The newest version showcases some of Apple’s coolest technologies.
Thinking about how to improve your Wikipedia reading experience? Then you should try the new and enhanced iOS version of the ever popular mobile application. Recently, the Wikipedia and Apple announced that they’ve launched a new version of the app, which now support tons of cool new features.
The first thing Wiki wanted to address when updating the application was the editorial section. Wiki’s previous mobile version was sluggish at best when it came to article editing.
But thanks to Wikipedia’s latest tinkering, savvy users will now be able to create, edit and post content directly on Wikipedia without any issues.
Also, it has been known for quite a while now that Wikipedia has been experimented with an off-line mode for its mobile platforms, apart from the editing tool.
Moreover, thanks to the big boost in popularity, the boys working at Wikipedia have long sought to make the application more appealing when it comes to social media
With the newest update, users will now be able to share fun facts and articles on Facebook and other social media platforms directly from the application.
Furthermore, Wikipedia also had a word to say when it came to tailored application. Wiki and Apple agreed that the mobile application must respond to the user’s unique searches.
And so, the boys and girls working at Wiki managed to find a way around the situation. Using powerful searching and analysis algorithms, the mobile application will now be able to peruse and analyze the user’s search inquiries.
Using these results, Wikipedia will be able to offer users reading suggestions which are more attune to their interests or fields of study.
For example, if a user performed multiple searches regarding Shakespeare’s plays, the next time the user will log in, the system will recommend similar articles like the works of Christopher Marlowe or criticism based on Shakespeare’s works.
Apart from this nifty function, the system will post a picture on a daily basis, and will recommend random articles.
Another great perk is that Wikipedia implemented the latest technologies developed by Apple. As of now, users will be able to make use of the Handoff and 3D Touch technologies.
The 3D touch allows users to access Wikipedia-related content quickly directly from the home screen. This means that you will be able to search, read and edit articles without having to enter the application.
Moreover, the user can use the Handoff feature to access the phone’s primary functions directly from the app’s interface.
To access Wikipedia’s newest features, head on over to Apple Store and update the application.
