“Five Nights at Freddy’s” is a popular franchise of video games that adds value to the horror genre in this industry. The creative mind behind this project is Scott Cawthon who built a career around indie games. There are five episodes so far, but not all of them take place in a restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. This seems to be a parody intended for brands such as ShowBiz Pizza Place. However, fans of this survival horror video game will not get the chance to play the sixth sequel anymore.
Scott Cawton Will Redirect Attention to Personal Matters and Easier Projects Instead of a New Survival Horror Video Game
Last weekend, Scott Cawthon wrote an intriguing post on Steam community. He started off with good news by informing readers that their assumptions of an upcoming production of his were true. The creator used to fuel these ideas with suggestive hints here and there. He claimed that he had already started working on this new project which is actually the sixth installment of his popular series, “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
However, Cawthon ended up being completely honest with his readers. Even though there was a warm-up period to prepare gamers for a new production, Cawthon won’t finish this project. The reasons circulated around the idea that there is too much pressure as fans expect an even more challenging experience than in the old productions.
“So, after giving this a lot of thought; I’ve decided that I’m going to stop working on it.”
Even though they are right to share such expectations, the creator confessed that he couldn’t live up to them anymore. On top of that, he believes it is time to get back to personal matters that he neglected while working on “Five Nights at Freddy’s” project.
He thanked everybody for their support and asked them to respect his decision. However, this might not be the last time players heard of him. Cawthon returned to his post with an update saying that he would take up new projects that are less challenging and more enjoyable. While some believe this is a marketing stunt, it is after all just a one-man show.
