Samsung aims to build a universal processor for all wearable devices, so the manufacturer’s already vast product range is becoming even larger thanks to new hardware known as the Bio-Processor. According to the company, the chip is already scheduled for manufacturing on a large scale in the next weeks.
and is particularly developed to allow the increased efficiency of wearable items for customers who are progressively tracking their health parameters and fitness activities on a regular basis. The press release adds that Samsung’s future processor is a unique all-in-one fitness solution that can be used in a multitude of trackers with various specifications.
Since it is incorporating a series of different controllers and indicator models, like the quintet of front ends, the micro-controller device, an electronic indication processor or a spacious eFlash memory, the chip can perform all these operations without necessitating external processing power.
The concept behind this innovative processor is to represent a universal wearable for health and fitness activities. One of its five AFE’s records all bio electrical impedance research, while the rest concentrate on volumetric evaluation of different body parts or on electrocardiograms or skin temperature, beside other physical parameters.
You also have to remember that Samsung’s newest smart watch, Gear S2, can only monitor the pulse rate and this is the case for Apple’s expensive wearable too. Taking into consideration how exciting Samsung’s watches usually are, a possible explanation for this situation is that the Korean producer will not keep its future Bio-Processor just to itself.
The real earnings here can be found in possible licenses out to major companies, as it will never do with other proprietary components. People will not have to wait for a long time to see the new processor in action, since the organization guarantees that it will be loaded into gadgets available from the spring of 2016.
If you are thinking which devices will get it first, the almost certain heir to Samsung’s Gear S2 heir represents the best bet. However, sources do not know yet which may be the major event where the processor will make its first appearance.
