The world watched as the climbing bandit mesmerized the public with daring stunts and escapes. The culprit climbed a tall building in St. Paul, Minnesota, but is now trapped and safe.
The focus of all the attention was not a criminal, but a raccoon.
“In our office we are just glad he is safe. We were all worried about him,” says Sheila Donnelly-Coyne, an attorney whose firm, Paige Donnelly, is on the 23rd floor of the UBS building.
Spotted More Than 20 Stories Above Street Level
The bandit raccoon was spotted more than 20 stories above street level, in a downtown escapade that was tracked and shared to the world by Minnesota Public Radio. Their office was just across the street from the building the raccoon was climbing. They had a front row seat as the animal avoided both capture and death over and over again.

He became dubbed the #mprraccoon on Twitter and many watched with baited breath as the raccoon scampered and scaled the skyscraper.
The law firm on the top floor of the building finally reported the news that the raccoon had been trapped.

The raccoon was not trying to be an internet sensation, he was likely just looking for food on a lower skyway. Nelson said that the animal had been stranded on the building for a least two days.
