The first names of victims from Friday’s school shooting in Texas have been released by family members. Cynthia Tisdale was a substitute teacher at Santa Fe High School. John Tisdale, Cynthia’s brother-in-law, shared on Facebook the news that she is “now with the Lord.”
He wrote: “Thank you all for praying. My sister-in-law Cynthia Tisdale is now with the Lord. Please continue praying for my brother Rev. William Recie Tisdale, Recie Jr, Joseph, Autumn, and Shannon. We are all heart-broken. Cynthia was a member of Anchor Bible Baptist Church in Pharr, Texas.
“Are You Ready to Die Today?”
We never know when our death will come. Cynthia planned on one day retiring and being a full-time grandmother. It will never happen. My question to you is this: ARE YOU READY TO DIE TODAY? …”
Tisdale’s niece, Leia Olinda, told the press that she was like a mother to her and she had “never met a woman who loved her family so much.”
Cynthia Tisdale was married to her husband for almost 50 years, the couple have three children and eight grandchildren.
KRIV confirmed through the victim’s sister that Chris Stone, a high school junior, was also killed.
Angelique Ramirez, was also confirmed as a fatality after her aunt shared the news on Facebook.
She wrote: “With a broken heart and a soul that just can’t process all this right now, I have to announce my niece was one of the fatalities. My family and I appreciate all the calls, text, and prayers but as you can imagine I just can’t reply to everyone right now. Please keep all the families in your thoughts, and hug your children tightly.”
The 17-year-old suspect, Dimitrios Pagourtzis, has been charged with capital murder of multiple persons and aggravated assault against a public servant. He entered the Texas high school Friday morning, killed 10 people and wounded 10 more.
