Prepare yourself for the most excruciating experience ever to be seen in an arcade game. This weekend, Mortal Kombat X lets you try all the characters, including a couple of new ones, free of charge.
Get ready to face some gruesome, hand-to-hand and face-to-ground combat, in the latest edition of the ever beloved arcade combat game. Since it was first released in 2015, Mortal Kombat had all the ingredients a game requires to go from good to badass: sweet moves, monstrous fatalities, gore, lots and lots of blood and funky characters.
The game dev worked wonders on the game’s combat system, eliminating all those tedious keys you had to press to perform a particular killing move.
Since the game was well received by the gaming community, NetherRealms Studios and Warner Bros decided to launch several DLCs. Probably the most appreciated DLC even released for Mortal Kombat X is the Kombat Pack 2 DLC. Apart from new moves and cash prizes, the DLC, which can now be accessed for free this weekend, brought forth a couple of unusual characters.
If you though that disemboweling someone using Skorpio’s powers was gruesome, then try using Leatherface’s iconic chainsaw. Yup, you heard it right. This weekend, you have a chance to play with four new characters: the Xenomorph from the Aliens series, Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Bo’Rai Cho and Triborg.
Now, in order access the extra characters, head on over to the Premier Tower and tap on the “Who’s Next?” button. From there you will be able to access all characters.
In other news, the Kombat Pack 2 DLC is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, the Kombat Pack 2 DLC was not made available for PC, a fact which kind of pissed of the fans of the franchise. But, as always, the studio promise that it is working on a way to bring the second DLC to Microsoft Windows.
Meanwhile, let us squeeze in a few words about how cool it is to play as Leatherface. Apart from shredding your enemies using different moves, the game developers were careful to portray the character exactly as he was in the original movie, including the hitting part.
Well, we could only image a quick match between Xenomorph and, let’s say SubZero (the poor sod wouldn’t have a ghost of the chance in front of the menacing two-headed alien creep).
So, if you’re interested in kicking some serious can, fire up your tablet or console and set up a match and enjoy the gory scenery.
