On Tuesday, June 30, CEO Mark Zuckerberg decided to please Facebook users and hold an informal question and answer session with no cameras and no microphones, just from the comfort of his own personal page.
Apparently there were so many people interested in what Zuckerberg had to say that there were technical problems due to the large number of likes.
Among the people who actively took part in the informal conversation, there were celebrities such as Stephen Hawking and Arnold Schwarzeneger.
Stephen Hawking, the famous British physicist and cosmologist was interested to know what questions related to science would arouse Zuckerberg’s curiosity.
Not at all surprisingly, the co-founder of the biggest social network in the world replied that his interests relate more to people and the real answers he would like to get are related to the things that could enable human beings to live forever, how the brain works and what could be done to help us learn a million times more.
He also touched upon his interest in the laws that govern social relationships: ” I’m also curious about whether there is a fundamental mathematical law underlying human social relationships that governs the balance of who and what we all care about. I bet there is.”
He also talked about the way he views technology in the future, sharing his vision that people will be able to share thoughts by using technical devices: ” This would be the ultimate communication technology,” he added. This has already prompted speculations related to his plans for the future of Facebook.
Arnold Schwarzeneger, the famous actor, bodybuilder and ex-governor of California, was interested in more concrete things, such as how he manages to get any exercise done, given the fact that he is one of the busiest people on the planet.
Zuckerberg replied that an exercise routine is an important part of his weekly schedule and that he manages to work out at least three times a week, because he believes a person has more energy when he or she is fit.
Other questions he was asked by various Facebook users were related to the website’s insistence that people use real names and the future of digital news.
Another interesting question referred to Zuckerberg’s annual salary, which he has estimated to only $ 1. He said that money is not his main focus now, as he has made more than enough. Instead, he plans to live on what he has and work on doing as much good and possible for the world he lives in.
