Wondering in Nature can be a relaxing activity and quite adventurous, because, you never know what you may stumble upon. While on a trek through the Griffith Park, near Hollywood, two hikers from the United Stated had the scare of their life after discovering a human skull near the famous Hollywood sign.
Everybody loves a good old adventure sometimes because it keeps the blood pumping. But what happens if that adventure turns into an unpleasant experience? This is what happened to two hikers from the United States, who decided to take a quick stroll through Griffith Park.
Dubbed one of the most beautiful natural reservations in the United States, the Griffith Park is the best choice for those who want to unwind. Unfortunately, in many cases, the refreshing solitude that only Nature can give, can also become the stage for the perfect crime.
While hiking in Griffith Park, a pair of hikers discovered a human skull not far from the Hollywood sign. According to their deportations, while on the Bush Canyon trail, some 400 feet away from the sign, the two hikers caught a glimpse of an object located in the nearby bush.
Naturally, they’ve assumed that it’s a branch or even the remains of an animal. But on a closer inspection, the couple found out that the object looking at them from the bush was, in fact, a human skull.
Troubled by their finding, the couple immediately alerted L.A police department. Minutes away, a full team of police officers and coroners arrived at the scene to investigate the couple’s claims.
Lieutenant Ryan Schatz, the lead investigator, said that the couple did indeed find a human skull while hiking in the Bush Canyon. The coroners who arrived at the scene of the crime said that the skull is several years old.
Immediately after that, the police and the coroners formed a perimeter around the area where the skull was found and began to comb the area to see if there were other human remains.
Schatz declared that after several hours of search, the investigators were unable to find other parts of the body. The lead investigator pointed out that the discovery of the human skull has some points of interests.
The police officers said that four years ago, after being tipped off by a witness, the police found the severed head of an unidentified man. After investigating the case, the police manage to identify and apprehend the man’s killer.
The suspect was Gabriel Campos Martinez. In 2014, Martinez was found guilty of murder. Schatz and the team are trying to establish whether Martinez’s crime and the human skull found on the Bush Canyon trail are connected.
