GoPro’s action cameras will shoot videos in 360-degree mode, after the company began focusing on drones some time ago while trying to take a slice of pie in the multi-billion dollar industry. This comes very natural for the firm, as it will be capable to provide the ideal flying immersive digicam available on the marketplace: fully independent and no pilot needed.
Even if people have watched GoPro’s non-event video clips showed on the Internet, it is probably that the top technology will appear when there are no interaction situations. A few weeks ago, GoPro declared that it is acquiring Kolor, the 360-degree video clip producer in Italy.
This company is creating a system for merging several 360-degree clips recorded by, for instance, different GoPro devices connected to a particular mast. The organization is now a devoted business developer for the new 360-degree spherical programs.
With this purchase, GoPro is coming into the segment of 360-degree drone videos and images software. Even if there are other 360-degree digicam producers on the marketplace, none of them will be capable to natively incorporate the cameras on the drones for ideal picture quality and recording stabilization.
Immersive movie and pictures programs are the upcoming trend arriving on the tech market. Any user who has tried to install correctly a gimbal in order to shoot optimum quality photos and stable videos on all axes already knows that it is a total headache.
Immersive video clips without camera and drone movement lets people to take advantage instantly from a spectacular and complete spherical perspective. This way, they can provide entertaining experiences straight within the picture and people can watch real life activities on the VR equipment.
GoPro has also taken the time to set up their Europe subsidiary finally, after purchasing Skybotix in Sept. This is a small enterprise of five technicians originating from ETH, a Swiss governmental institution of technological innovation.
Skybotix has several years of expertise in independent drone technology, while ETH was also famous for its experts creating other top companies. For instance, senseFly turned into a Parrot organization, which is the main innovator in expert drone mapping programs.
