Google offers support for AirPlay, still has to release an Apple TV app. After the newest AirPlay incorporation, owners of the Apple TV can now see all TV shows and films that they rented or bought from Google Play’s TV and movies app. The search engine has modified its iOS application to support full AirPlay video streaming directly from the smart phones and tablets to the owners’ Apple TV. It is important to note that, right now, the company does not own a native tvOS program for Apple’s streaming device.
In the last weeks, users did not find any of Google’s tvOS applications compatible with it in the App Store. For those who have films and TV shows saved in their Google Play profile, they will need the 3rd or 4th generation of the Apple TV with the 7.0 version or newer to be capable to transmit them through AirPlay. Dedicated Apple TV applications only run on the latest fourth-gen Apple top box.
The giant engine appears to be matching gradually its service with Apple’s TV streaming gadget, just like many other competitors. Amazon is already said to be developing tvOS software for its Instant Video platform. Following AirPlay assistance, it could be just a few weeks before Google’s applications appear in the App Store. The search giant’s Hangouts feature represents another one that users would like to use as a standalone tvOS application.
Apple did not reveal the exact number of tvOS applications that are now being developed for its extended App Store, however third-party statistics companies report that there are over 2,500 applications. As this vast ecosystem is constantly flourishing, the company is hoping to design a smooth experience between its tvOS and iOS. According to rumors in the tech industry, the iOS platform will start determining which iOS applications have a proprietary tvOS component, much like how the program tells users which applications have their own Apple Watch editions.
The cross system compatibility is expected to help a lot people to make better use of the numerous feature offered in these ecosystems. In the next years, the compatibility will increase more and more, eventually leading to the development of software universally available in all ecosystems.
