The penultimate season of Game of Thrones brought many events fans of the TV show highly awaited. One of them was the reunion of most of Stark brothers. However, they were no longer the innocent boy and girls they used to be. Each of them has already experienced a legendary yet gloomy destiny. Therefore, the years that they’ve been away turned them into strangers. As it is, the reunion was cold and offered a minimum of dialogue. The sixth episode uncovered even more tensions between Stark sisters.
Sansa and Arya Carefully Studied Each Other First, yet Littlefinger’s Scroll Poured Fire on Their Anger and Fear
While besties in real life, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner have to play two sisters in Game of Thrones that were apart for several years and grew strangers from one another. As Arya Stark learned from Hot Pie that she can find her sister back at their homeland Winterfell, we see her smile with hope and happiness. However, once she gets back, she starts studying her sister from afar before deciding to trust Sansa or not.
While the fate of the Stark sisters seems at odds, Littlefinger steps in and levels the balance to the side of chaos once more. Petyr Baelish sneaked a controversial scroll into the hands of Arya. The text compromised the integrity of the Lady of Winterfell. Once Arya revealed the message to Sansa, she feared that her reputation would get destroyed in front of the lords that pledged to follow her brother.
During their few moments together, we came to see the tensions that might lead even to murder. Arya started perceiving Sansa as obsessed with power who can even go beyond Jon’s back to attain her means. On the other hand, Sansa gets a glimpse into Arya’s side as a deadly, living weapon that is quick to judge people.
Stark Sisters Are Heading towards a Fatal Conclusion even though They Can Form an Imperishable Alliance
Baelish’s schemes managed to steal Stark sisters the chance to get to know each other. Sansa tells Arya that their conflict is exactly what Cersei wants. That’s because together they can become a fierce enemy to the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
On top of that, Littlefinger has a lot to gain from this deteriorated relationship as well. He can become the sole voice that whispers in the ear of the powerful Lady of Winterfell.
Therefore, as long as the two sisters continue to see an enemy in one another, the drama of the Stark House will unravel. While they can create an imperishable alliance, Sansa and Arya are still too young to detect the traces of a devilish conspiracy against both of them. The enemy is not only on the battlefield, but it can infiltrate cities, houses, castles as well.
