A Florida middle school teacher quickly resigned after it was revealed that she hosted a white supremacist podcast.
Dayanna Volitich was removed from her classroom at Crystal River Middle School last month while district officials investigated what the “Huffington Post” reported regarding her involvement in the podcast “Unapologetic.” She also had a Twitter account full of racist and anti-Semitic posts.
The Citrus County School District assistant superintendent, Mike Mullen, said in a statement on Monday that was given to CNN that Volitich had submitted a letter of resignation. He added that the resignation is not final until the school board accepts it at an April 10th meeting.
Dayanna Volitich hosted the podcast under the assumed name, Tiana Dalichov. She claimed it was all just political satire. In one episode, she discussed sharing white nationalist beliefs in the classroom. This was contrary to her statement last month in which she said her political beliefs are not “injected into my teaching of social studies curriculum.”
