They are trying out colored backgrounds in order to make people post more
Facebook has been making a lot of effort this year in order to keep its place on the market. Despite the fact that it has some problems when it comes to fake news, they are trying to solve them in no time. This year Facebook has been focusing on video material.
Starting with Facebook Live and now the change made to Facebook Messenger, it is clear that they are trying to switch from the regular texts and posts. This means that they are still interested in posts. This is why they are thinking about making a change: colored backgrounds.
They are trying out colored backgrounds in order to make people post more. Despite the fact that we are all used to the blue-colored Facebook, people might enjoy a little bit of color in their posts. Colored backgrounds are just a way to make people post more stuff on Facebook. The change was provoked by the fact that Facebook has seen a decline in its posts (21%).
Once the tech giant saw that people are posting less on the social media platform, they designed these colored backgrounds to make everything more interesting. This feature is pretty simple and interesting. People will just have to choose the color of the background from yellow, purple, red, orange, and of course, variations of blue.
This feature will be available in a few weeks but it is going to be designed especially for Android devices. Web and iOS users will still see the colored backgrounds but they can’t post them like Android users can. Facebook wants to make sure that this feature is successful before making it available for iOS too.
This update shows that Facebook still cares about text-only posts. Despite the fact that they have focused on video material, regular posts are still important for the platform. Even the director of Facebook mentioned that they expect that in 2022 more than 70% of posts will be videos. Until that happens Facebook still wants its users to post more on the platform.
Let’s hope that Android users enjoy the colored background and that the developers of this features will make it available for other devices too. This is an interesting update on Facebook and it could bring more posts on the platform.
