Louis CK’s former manager, Dave Becky, issued a statement in which he apologizes for turning a blind eye to the comedian’s sexual misconducts. Becky claims to not have known about CK’s exploits, in particular, an incident at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen in 2002. There, the comedian exposed himself to Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov. According to the shocking Times expose, the two women stated Becky was “upset” that they were openly talking about the misconduct.
An excerpt of Becky’s statement takes issue with the women’s allegation. The manager said he would have acted accordingly if he understood the gravity of the situation.
“If I had, I would have taken this event as seriously as it deserved to be, and I would have confronted Louis, which would have been the right thing to do,” Becky added.
In light of the confirmed accusations surrounding Louis CK, actress, Pamela Adlon, has also fired Becky from his position as her manager. She reportedly terminated her contract with the manager this weekend while Becky himself dropped CK as a client on Friday.
Adlon stated she did not know about CK’s behavior. The actress has frequently collaborated with C.K in various series from HBO’s “Lucky Louis” and FX’s “Louis” to her most recent outing in her FX series “Better Things”. FX later confirmed that Louis CK’s production company Pig Newton will no longer be attached to Adlon’s series.
Dave Becky is a renowned manager in Hollywood representing actors and comedians alike. His clients include Natasha Lyonne, Kevin Hart, Amy Poehler, and Aziz Ansari to name a few.
The man currently occupies an executive producer position in several television properties such as FX’s “Baskets” and the aforementioned “Better Things”, among others.
Louis CK has recently admitted to the allegations while also issuing an apology to all affected parties.
