Several animal rights activists called the police after discovering human remains under a bridge.
Presently, the Dallas County’s Police Department is investigating the mysterious death of a person whose cadaver has been found dumped under a highway bridge. Dallas coroners are trying to ID the cadaver found under the bridge, which was discovered by a group of animal rights activists.
Major Max Geron, one of the investigators involved in the case, said that the police squad from Dallas received a distress call on Sunday morning from a group of activists. According to the police department, the activists said that they’ve found human remains in an area outside Dallas.
Geron also said that the police quickly moved in to secure the human remains and that the case was turned over to the coroner’s office. When asked about the scene of the crime, the chief investigator said that the officers found a cadaver in an advanced state of decomposition and that it also had bits of clothes attached to it.
Moreover, according to the preliminary investigation, it would seem that the body showed sign of tampering probably from the animals roaming about in the area.
Major Geron said that although it is still premature, he believed that the unidentified body might belong to a certain Marisol Espinosa, a Latino-American woman who disappeared from that area back in December.
Espinosa’s family said that the woman just vanished one day as she was on her way to the job at hair center situated in the Northpark Center.
Since then, the family did everything it could to maintain the public’s attention in the case. Several search parties were organized in hope that they will find the missing woman. However, it was exactly as the family said: Marisol just vanished into thin air, never to be heard from again.
Stephanie Timko was one of the activists who called the police after discovering the human remains. According to her deportation, she and the other people were scouring the area for injured or dead animals. But, to their horror and astonishment, they’ve found more than they were looking for.
When asked by the press about her discovery, Timko declared that although many people forgot about Marisol’s case, she didn’t. In fact, when they’ve discovered the human remains, the young activist had some mixed feeling.
On one hand she wanted to be Marisol because her family deserves to know the truth, but on the contrary she did not wish to believe that those were the human remain of the human.
Whatever the case maybe, Geron said that he turned this case over to the coroners who will establish the identity of the person.
