A new study has revealed the answer to the question most men are asking, what is the normal penis size?
The study was conducted by a team of researchers from the King’s College London in collaboration with London NHS.
The researchers measured more than 15,000 penises in order to determine what is the normal size of the male sexual organ.
The scientists explained that the reason behind the study was to help the men who are insecure about the size of their manhood, which is the cause of many anxieties and emotional distress.
According to the study, the average size of a flaccid penis is approximately 9.16 cm (3.6 inches), 13.24 cm (5.2 inches) when stretched, and 9.31 cm (3.7 inches) in circumference.
The study also revealed that the normal penis size while erected was approximately 13.12 cm (5.1 inches) and a girth of 11.66 cm (4.5 inches).
The researchers said that the study found a small positive link between the man’s height and the length of the erect penis.
The research involved men of all ages and races, according to the scientists and it used 17 separate studies and approximately 15,521 penis measurements conducted by health officials using a standard procedure.
Dr. David Veale, one of the leaders of the study and a researcher at King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, explained that the findings were turned into size charts.
According to Dr. Veale, these charts will hopefully help doctors reassure many of the men who worry about the size of their penis.
The charts will be used to examine the difference between what men believe to be their position on the graph and where they actually stand.
The findings will also be used to help those who are being counseled for penis size anxieties and to help men who are affected by Body Dysmorphic Disorder, a disorder related to self-image perception.
Dr Martin Baggaley explained that Body Dysmorphic Disorder causes the person to have a distorted view on his or hers appearance, which leads to obsessive behavior about self-image.
The findings of the recent study were published in the British Journal of Urology International.
