Former FBI Director James Comey not only said that President Trump is “morally unfit” for office, but he also said in an ABC interview Sunday night that the president treated women like “meat.”
Comey did the exclusive interview with ABC’s News chief George Stephanopoulos. He criticized the president during his first television interview since he was fired last May, describing him as a serial liar and a “stain” on everyone who worked for him.
“I think he’s morally unfit to be president,” Comey told Stephanopoulous.
“A person who sees moral equivalence in Charlottesville, who talks about and treats women like they’re pieces of meat, who lies constantly about matters big and small and insists the American people believe it, that person’s not fit to be president of the United States, on moral grounds,” he continued.
Comey is in the thick of a book tour for his newly released title: “A Higher Loyalty,” which details his interactions with the president and the fallout from the 2016 presidential campaign.
In the wake of this book’s release, President Trump has lashed out at the former FBI director, calling him a “leaker and liar,” a “slimeball” and “worst FBI Director in history, by far!”
Comey was fired by Trump last May, and his leaving led to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to lead an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign.
