Brit Hume from Fox News struck back at President Trump on Monday after he criticized the network for hosting a town hall with South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
“Say this for Buttigieg. He’s willing to be questioned by Chris Wallace, something you’ve barely done since you’ve been president,” Hume tweeted, quoting Trump’s initial criticism.
“Oh, and covering candidates of both parties is part of the job of a news channel.”

Trump lashed out at the network Sunday night for “wasting airtime” by covering Buttigieg and other 2020 Democratic candidates.
“Hard to believe that @FoxNews is wasting airtime on Mayor Pete, as Chris Wallace likes to call him,” the president tweeted, referring to Buttigieg and the Fox News host.
Trump’s actual tweet said: ”They forgot the people who got them there. Chris Wallace said, ‘I actually think, whether you like his opinions or not, that Mayor Pete has a lot of substance…fascinating biography.’ Gee, he never speaks well of me – I like Mike Wallace better…and Alfred E. Newman will never be President!”
The president has on a number of occasions compared the mayor to the gap-toothed Mad Magazine character Alfred E. Neuman.
Buttigieg and Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) have participated in events on Fox News despite the Democratic National Committee announcing in March that it would not allow Fox News to host any of its presidential primary debates this cycle because of its close ties to the White House.
What do you think about the way Hume has responded to the president’s criticism? We look forward to seeing your comments.
