Woman donated her breast milk after her baby died.
Wendy Cruz-Chan can be considered a true hero. After she lost her son while she was just 19 weeks pregnant, she decided to pump her breast milk and to donate it to the parents in need. Wendy, who is a New York resident, lost her baby due to an uterus infection. When she left the hospital, she discovered that her milk was starting to come.
She decided to help other babies who need breast milk. She contacted the parents who wanted to give their babies breast milk and started to pump. Wendy explained that even though she was not able to breastfeed her own son, she wanted to do something in his name. She managed to donate more than 60 liters of milk for many children, even for one who was suffering from a skin disease.
Her gift is priceless for all the mothers who are not able to breastfeed their babies. Moreover, it helped her not to be in a deep depression because she felt like she has a new purpose. Even though she reached her goal, Wendy has now new plans. She wants to raise awareness and get money for hospital equipment.
Breastfeeding is really important for the baby and for the mother too. First of all, if the baby gets breast milk, he will be healthier. Studies prove the breastfeeding protects the child against pneumonia, colds, and viruses. Moreover, it reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases, such as Crohn’s disease.
Doctors also advice breastfeeding because it lowers the risk of infant death. Breast milk also protects the child from becoming obese. It could be a surprise, but breast milk is good for the Earth. As we already knew, thousands of cows are raised to produce milk for the infants. However, these animals are responsible for spreading methane in the air, which is really harmful to our planet.
Breast milk is the cheapest option, especially for those parents who do not have a big income. Not only that it will help you spend less money, but it is also healthier. The most important thing about breastfeeding is that it gives you the opportunity to connect more with your baby.
Unfortunately, not all the mothers are able to breastfeed. This is why Wendy’s gift is so important. It will help many babies to develop and have a normal life.
