Facebook Messenger 2.0 is already in beta and promises innovative bot tweaks.
The social media giant is betting high on its Messenger application. The company invested lots of time, finances, and expertise on this platform. At the moment, Facebook Messenger has a broad range of 100,000 of bots to carry out a multitude of services to the delight of users and publishers. With the occasion of the annual F8 event for developers, the head of Messengers announced a new series of bot tweaks that are going to animate the little chat even more.
The Upcoming Messenger Platform 2.0 Will Have 100,000 of Bot Tweaks
On Tuesday, David Marcus, the head officer of Facebook Messenger, announced innovative projects within his department. Whereas last April there was no artificial activity on this texting chat, there are now more than 100,000 bots that populate this application. This entire content will be unleashed with the release of Messenger Platform 2.0.
Among numerous additions, Messenger users will be able to enjoy more musical experiences while chatting with their friends. This is thanks to the fact that any song suggestions during a conversation will ask bots to retrieve the exact Spotify track. Moreover, the bot will integrate the specified content into the conversation.
People Will Be Able to Use a Special Tab Where They Converse with Bots Only
The upcoming version of the Messenger will have a special tab for bots only. This new addition will help users get familiar with their new artificial intelligence assistants. Moreover, users can control which bots are allowed to intervene during a conversation with appropriate suggestions.
This new tab is dubbed as the Discover tab. For the moment, it is in beta testing to a random batch of U.S. users. Once in this window, people can write all kinds of commands, from ordering food to setting meeting reminders. Moreover, users’ favorite companies can apply for submitting a bot on their own.
The network of new bot tweaks is based on an old, resurrected project, namely the M personal assistant. The AI is in beta testing as well. However, it only works with the Delivery.com platform for the moment.
Another feature that will appear together with Messenger Platform 2.0 will be a new opportunity for companies to get in contact with their clients. Nonetheless, Facebook will only provide the means and not the content as well. This means that businesses will be able to send automatic replies based on AI to their clients’ messages received through their Facebook page.
