Oxygen is identified by most body cells, so the scientists changed its level to see how the mice reacted. Researchers used a jet lag situation. They changed the hours of light in the laboratory, which made mice skip six hours.
There were two groups of mice. The first one was exposed to a lower oxygen level for some hours. The second one had the same oxygen level as they would have during a normal day. The results showed that the first group had more benefits because the mice suffered less from the jet lag than those who had the same level of oxygen.
