A casual lunch time at the cafeteria of Washington state’s Marysville Pilchuck High School became a disaster on Friday when a gunman started firing shots at the students and finally killed himself to death. However in this commotion, there was a hero that was identified as the social studies teacher who was working for the first year, Megan Silberberger.
Even though newly hired into the school, without fearing for her own life, Megan heroically tried to intercept the gunman by pushing his hand while he tried to reload but ultimately was unsuccessful as the shooter shot himself to death. Erick Cervantes who studies in the same high school saw this with his eyes and spoke about the brave attempt on part of the new teacher.
The shooter was Jayle Fryberg who was a student of this school and killed a girl and severely injured four other students before killing himself. Fryberg was known to be a very decent student and showed a lot of interest in sports. Being a great football player, he had managed to secure a position on the high school’s homecoming court just a week ago. Although the intentions behind the shooting is still unclear, speculations are he was facing some trouble which is evident from his latest Twitter feeds.
