If a picture can speak a thousand words, a picture that is tweeted must speak millions. A patriotic gesture was captured by several photographers at a Braves game on Memorial Day. The message of the scene has gone viral on Twitter.
In the photo, a JROTC member stands at attention next to the stadium’s POW-MIA Chair of Honor in the rain. A fan in a red raincoat stands next to him holding an umbrella so he is protected from the weather.
“Respect” Tweet
The Braves tweeted the photo with a simple caption: “Respect.”

Another fan captured the same scene from another angle saying, “They sacrifice so much for us, we can sacrifice for them too!!! #RespectOurMilitary.”

The Braves dedicated the Chair of Honor at SunTrust Park last year.
“Since World War 1 more than 92,000 American soldiers are unaccounted for. This unoccupied seat is dedicated to the memory of these brave men and women and to the sacrifice they made in serving this country,” an inscription on a plaque next to the chair reads.
