Melania Trump managed to avoid scandals and adopt a neutral image since her husband became the President of the United States. However, Trump’s first wife Ivana managed to ruin this perfect poise through one interview. She was promoting her new book, Raising Trump, when she slipped a remark according to which she is the rightful First Lady of America.
Ivana Felt Entitled to Take up the First Lady Title Since She Is Donald Trump’s First Wife
Ivana Trump started campaigning to raise interest about a new book she wrote. The document has the format of a biography. The author talks about her ex-husband and her endeavor of raising Trump’s two sons and one daughter.
In a recent interview, Ivana offered her candid view on Donald Trump and his former and current marriages. She talked plainly about Marla Maples, Trump’s second wife with whom he had Tiffany. She depicted her as a person who scored no achievements in life yet likes to be in the limelight.
Ivana quickly channeled the conversation on Donald’s current wife, Melania. She claimed that this relationship is the best one she had with one of Trump’s spouses. However, Ivana quickly rectified this compliment by saying that one of them is ‘nobody’ while the other is the ‘first lady.’
To make things clearer than this, Ivana pushed this idea further and talked cold turkey about how she perceived Melania. Ivana claimed that she chats with her ex-husband on the phone once a fortnight. However, she must be careful not to catch Melania on the phone as she is always the one who makes the phone calls.
“I don’t really want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife, OK? I’m first lady, OK?”
Melania Trump Responded to Ivana’s Comments
This series of remarks seems to have upset the first family. Melania Trump abandoned her temperate image by firing back to Trump’s first wife. She ended up describing Ivana’s interview as “”attention-seeking and self-serving noise.”
On the other hand, Ivana confessed that her book portrayed Donald Trump as a loving father. However, he didn’t take his children seriously until they were 18. This is when he was able to talk business matters with them.
