A breathtaking event took place in the sky on Thursday. That’s right, there was a sighting of a partial solar eclipse. But, due to some problems of too many clouds in the sky, this phenomenon wasn’t so clear.
The moon partly covered the sun and it was clearly spotted in the Washington area around noon, just sometime before the sun went down. At this time, there were also predictions regarding good amount of cloud covering the skies.
Many people, who really wanted to witness this phenomenon resorted to finding a safe place to view the sky on the internet, and getting there on time to view this unimaginable situation.
Reports say that it basically was the moon partially eating away the sun giving rise to a rather beautiful view in the sky. Many regret missing this phenomenon due to the excessive amount of clouds in the sky.
But, the ones who saw it had a rare view of this kind for the first time noted. Some of the people who got to see this includes a man named Jeff Gamble from Fairfax county who went out of his way to find a safe place for this sighting and eventually found one near the intersection of 29 and 28 routes in Fairfax.
One other lucky witness Rachel Sanderoff got to see this for just a few minutes in Bethesda before the clouds came up.
