Microsoft is known for releasing updated versions of Microsoft Office after due deliberation. This is done as the important data on computers worldwide is protected on these variants of Microsoft Office.
Since long however, Microsoft had not been working on updating its Office package. Some good news is in store though as sources at Microsoft have hinted at releasing a new version of Office software package by early 2015, probably the first quarter of the year. This new Office software package will be released for Mac users.
One component of this package, the Outlook email program has however been released. This has been done through Office 365 subscription service. This service costs the users US$ 100 a year, a cost which can be considered minimal, considering the benefits that it brings along.
This announcement by Microsoft was made on October 31st in a blog post. The post also mentioned that a consistent experience between Outlook on the Personal Computer and on the web will become a reality once the Office package is fully operational.
A new Office package is long overdue and it was expected that Microsoft will come up with one, this year only. The last Office package for Mac computers was released in 2010 and with the new one expected in 2015, a gap of five years has been created.
Microsoft on its part has come with a defence that it was busy designing and implementing Office versions for tablets and smartphone, hence the delay.
