A low intensity earthquake of magnitude-3.3 jolted North Texas on Saturday, causing a moment of panic among the residents. No incidences of injuries or damages were reported so far.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at about 9:15 pm on Saturday.
The authorities said that the quake was centered at about two miles beneath east Irving, which is approximately six miles northwest of Dallas.
Saturday’s quake was the sixth one which is centered near Irving in two months. It was also the strongest among all the six quakes.
The incident of earthquake was posted in large numbers on online social forums.
A tweet from the Stars, who were playing the Los Angeles Kings in downtown Dallas, said, “That was . odd. Thanks for bringing an earthquake, @LAKings.”
In recent times, quakes have become more common in Texas.
