The teacher being hailed as a hero from Nobelsville West Middle School gave a surprising message to his students. Jason Seaman tackled the shooter inside of a classroom and possibly saved many of his student’s lives.
The shooting suspect asked to be excused from class at about 9am on Friday. He then returned with two handguns and was immediately tackled by Seaman.
Teacher Shot Three Times
The teacher was shot three times in the process and was immediately taken to the hospital. Seaman, 29-years-old, was operated on and is now listed in “good condition.” He could be released as early as Sunday.
Kristi J. Hubly Seaman is Jason’s wife and mother of his two children. One of their children is a newborn. She shared this post on social media:
“Jason is out of surgery and is doing well. 3 shots – 1 through the abdomen, 1 in the hip& 1 in the forearm. PLEASE pray for the student that was also shot.”
Jason Seaman also released a statement to the public. He actually thanked all of his students and reminded them they are the reason that he teaches.

Abbie Tank was a student of Seaman’s while in the seventh grade. She tweeted that he “always told us he would take a bullet for anyone of his students.”
“He Told Us He Would Take a Bullet”
“I remember every time we had a code red drill in 7th grade Mr. Seaman always told us he would take a bullet for anyone of his students and how he would do whatever he could to protect us. What a true hero to live up to that promise. Words can’t describe how much we love you.”
