Almost two weeks ago, on the 2nd of July, Matthew Graham, 23, filed a report that said his 6-month-old baby girl, Ember Graham had been abducted from her home on Noosha Lane.
The police have been investigating what seemed to be an case of abduction ever since. However, the father of the young child became a person of interest in the investigation after his statements revealed various inconsistencies.
Soon after becoming aware that he was a main suspect, Graham reportedly stole a gun from his mother and ran away.
According to representatives of the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew Graham was supposed to meet with this probation officer on Saturday but never showed up.
Before he become involved in this case, he had been imprisoned for committing an act of forgery. After having settled the case, the judge ruled that it wasn’t necessary for him to wear a monitoring bracelet.
Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko regarded this as a huge mistake: “The court made a bad decision in ordering Graham’s GPS to be removed and now the public is in danger,” he said during a conference press.
Now the suspect is considered very dangerous, as he is in possession of a firearm and has violated the terms of his probation.
According to the alert issued on the matter, Matthew Graham fled his home at around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 11th, after stealing a sum of money and a gun.
The investigators found a pacifier similar to the one baby Ember had in Ono, on Friday. Even if a DNA test still needs to be carried out, the deputy officers were in contact with the missing girl’s mother and also expressed their intention to speak to Graham.
After talking to the suspect’s mother about the new lead in the investigation, she soon afterwards called the police and told them that her son was missing and so were her gun, money and mobile phone.
Ever since then, police officers have been searching the area, prompting people to be on the lookout for both the 23-year-old man and his car – an old Honda. Matthew Graham is 6 feet tall, weighs about 185 pounds and is of white color. The last time he was seen, he was wearing a green T-shirt, a plaid shirt and a baseball cap.
The police investigators prompted the people residing in the area to make sure their cars and homes are properly secured and call the police if they see anyone who resembles the suspect.
In the meanwhile, they are also searching the area to find Ember, who is hopefully alive and well.
