Pretty soon there is going to be an Aldi supermarket near you, where you will always be able to get the best offers in the food of your choice.
Aldi is a German supermarket chain and it is owned by the same company as popular Trader Joe’s stores. Although Aldi already has 1,400 supermarkets around the US, it plans to make that number much higher in the following years.
By July 2016, Aldi expects to open 25 stores in Southern California and hopes to get to 45 stores in the region by the end of next year.
What Aldi is known for is its low prices and its no muss no fuss approach to the sales process. When you go into an Aldi store, you will notice that it is quite a small supermarket, and it is has every category included in this rather small space.
Nevertheless, it is rather spacy, so you don’t have to fight people off to buy cereal. The second thing that will strike you as odd will be the fact that you will not know most of the brands featured in the store.
This is because Aldi works with smaller private companies, in order to get you a better price than generic supermarkets. And it is actually quite fun to experiment with new types of cookies, cereal, yogurt, cheesy bread spread cream and a wide variety of other products.
Also it is cheap enough for you to be willing to try out something new. When Aldi’s products are half the price you normally pay for the same thing from generic brands, experimenting becomes quite appealing. And the quality of the products is at least as good as the quality offered by generic brands.
In Aldi supermarkets you will be able to find bread and pastry products, cereals and breakfast food, chocolate and sweets, a wide variety of dairy products, a decent variety of beverages, meat products, frozen food from microwave pizza to Chinese pan rice and all the canned goods you might like.
Then, there is even a fresh fruit and vegetable department that somehow manages to provide all you with all the options you need, that are packed in quite a small place.
Then, along the place where the customer line is formed, they have items on which they have special offers. And you are bound to find some good deals there, on pretty much anything that does not require to be refrigerated.
Also, there is a special shelf where they have offers that most of the time are too good to resist. Most of the time they offer 2 or 3 items for the price of one, if the item is on the accelerated sale list, which means that it is set to expire soon.
The actually go to great lengths in order to minimize food waste, so the offers are extremely good for ripe fruit and vegetables and accelerated list products.
All in all, Aldi is an excellent choice if you need to shop for the entire week with little money, because it offers affordable quality food. It is actually a good choice even when you have a lot of money to spend on next week’s menu, since the offer products that you will not find anywhere else that are absolutely delicious.
