It now seems that battle ropes are not merely used for holding ships to shore but can now be found in quite unusual locations which would have made sailors raise eyebrows in the past.
Fitness centers all over the U.S. have started using the newest trend in fitness – battle ropes. Crazy as it may sound, this new tool proves very effective. This is why it has become so increasingly popular nowadays.
The fact that they are so heavy is what makes them truly challenging. They are a fun and exciting, but most of all, they are extremely efficient for those who want to train almost all the muscle groups and get the body they’ve always dreamed about.
The main advantage is that it combines cardio with fitness activities, which makes it more useful in a shorter period of time.
According to Jonathan Ross, a representative of the American Council of Exercise, it doesn’t only use different muscles, but it also trains muscles in various ways, much like running with the upper part of your body.
This way, you can both burn calories and build up some muscular mass, as long as you have the correct posture and coordination. For example, you should not pull the ropes too tight, in order to allow them to create waves and you should be careful when using them if you have a problem with your shoulders.
Otherwise, the difficulty of the exercise is up to you. If you want it to be harder, you can use a longer piece of rope.
According to a study published last month in the Journal of Strength and Coordinating Research, a 10-minute workout with battle ropes had amazing results, including higher heart rates and just the necessary energy expenditure to enhance cardio respiratory fitness.
It basically trains your back, buttocks, and abs, as well as the upper body. Battle rope classes are fun, especially because they engage teams in a competition against one another to see which can keep the ropes moving the longest.
The strength necessary to pull the rope is not only reflected on your body but it is also mirrored in your mind, as it is a constant exercise of will-power as well.
The new tool has become so popular that Crunch, a very big chain of fitness centers has already set up a group fitness class focused on battle ropes.
